Vitamin Influence on Oral Precancerous Conditions and Oral Cancer Development

Mixchi Samuel*

Oral Potentially Malignant Disorders (OPMDs) and oral cancer pose significant challenges to public health globally. In recent years, the role of vitamins in the prevention and progression of these conditions has gained increased attention. This paper explores the complex interplay between various vitamins and their potential influence on oral precancerous conditions and the development of oral cancer. We summarize the current state of knowledge, shedding light on the mechanisms through which vitamins may exert their effects and discuss their implications for prevention and therapeutic strategies.

Rescue of Islet β Cells from High Glucose-induced Apoptosis through Vitamin B12-induced Autophagy

Hyuana Kim*

The survival and function of islet β cells are crucial for maintaining glucose homeostasis. High glucose levels can induce apoptosis in these cells, contributing to the pathogenesis of diabetes. This paper explores the protective effects of vitamin B12-induced autophagy as a mechanism to rescue islet β cells from high glucose-induced apoptosis. Through a comprehensive review of the literature and discussions on the potential implications of this phenomenon, we shed light on the promising role of vitamin B12 in preserving β cell integrity and function, offering new avenues for diabetes research and therapy.

Enhanced Vitamin A Derivatives in Skin-permeable Chitosan Nanocapsules

Jewel Hurrayun*

Skin health and appearance are of paramount importance and vitamin A derivatives, known for their antioxidative properties and skin benefits, have been widely used in skincare products. However, their efficacy and stability can be compromised when exposed to environmental factors. In this paper, we present a novel approach to enhance the stability and efficacy of vitamin A derivatives through their encapsulation in skinpermeable chitosan nanocapsules. This research explores the methodology, summarizes the key findings from the literature, discusses the potential applications and presents promising results, providing a foundation for innovative advancements in skincare products.

Sleep Disturbances as a Mediator of Vitamin D's Impact on Depressive Symptoms: A Cross-sectional Study

Elina Tonouic*

This cross-sectional study investigates the potential mediating role of sleep disturbances in the relationship between vitamin D levels and depressive symptoms. Depression is a widespread mental health concern and emerging evidence suggests that vitamin D may play a role in its etiology. Sleep disturbances have also been linked to both vitamin D deficiency and depression. In this study, we explore the interplay between vitamin D, sleep quality and depressive symptoms, shedding light on the potential mechanisms involved. By summarizing the findings, this research aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the complex relationship between vitamin D and depression and its implications for public health and clinical practice.
