This thesis will explore the social media platforms’ functions and their numbers (Applications Downloaded, Active User, Views, Shares) that SMEs and family business in Australia can use with minimum cost. Early this year, the Australian government had to take necessary decisions and in a short period to control the pandemic from spreading across the nation. Thus, it left many businesses unprepared to cope with the changes and caused many businesses in Sydney CDB either limiting their activities or closed due to though restriction such as social distancing, no more air travels overseas and interstates, work from home and online study. Unlike any national companies in Australia, SMEs and family business have limited resources to shift or cope with the situations. The thesis will focus on consumer behaviour, as these restrictions will change the way consumer do their activities and influencing another consumer in the social media era, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and others, using 6Cs Parent Model a model on how consumer engaging with company’s content which measures through like, comments, and shares. It will explore the number of users before the restrictions apply and after, and how users using the social media platforms will affecting SMEs and family business. Furthermore, the outcome of this study to encourage SMEs and especially family businesses utilising social media to communicating, promoting, growing, expanding and keep consumers’ awareness of their business. The objectives of this to help SMEs and family business to go through a rough time during the pandemic outbreak and keep their brands or businesses on consumer’s mind and helping and growing SMEs and family business audiences or expands their market. A qualitative research approach, along with internet questionnaires using survey monkey platforms and any sources of information in this thesis, will be cited.

This study investigates the effect of succession on family-owned businesses ' innovation and leadership. Multiple factors affect the socio-economic development of any nation, such as unemployment rates, literacy rates, and so on. Likewise, and family-owned businesses are among one of those factors. The whole study will be conducted in an Australian context because 70% of total businesses are family-owned businesses; therefore, can provide an in-depth dynamics of family firms. A family business is based on the succession, i.e., transfer of business ownership and control from one family member to another, mostly from one generation to another. The model regarding transfer of knowledge and successor's development in a family firm has been used. This model is based on the resource-based theory. As per this theory, knowledge is an essential resource for a firm, and it has two major categories, i.e., explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge. The tacit knowledge is more difficult to be transferred than explicit knowledge. It is assumed that family businesses have lesser problems than corporate. In current times, innovation for business success is the topmost priority, which has yet to be explored for family-owned businesses in Australia. Therefore, it is essential to explore the impact and consequences of business innovation on family-owned that small and medium businesses. This study aims to explore the succession of family-owned businesses and the effect on business innovation and leadership. This study plays a significant role in conventional family businesses that come across succession issues and have limited but efficient resource allocation within family businesses. The first objective of this study is to determine post intergenerational succession innovation. Secondly, the impact of succession on innovation. It also discovers the factors that impact innovation. A qualitative research approach will be followed by conducting interviews with open-ended questions to 24 respondents that include both predecessors and successors. The right to autonomy, secrecy, and privacy of all respondents will be protected under ethical consideration.

The software industry is a multi-billion industry and millions of people associated with this business. The beauty of this industry is it requires minimal infrastructure and special equipment which include software and hardware to run the business. Virtual working environment and practices originated in the 1980s with the birth of the internet. Virtual teams or individuals work online with mutual agreement and defined objectives. There are a lot of challenges which the leadership faces while dealing with virtual teams. These challenges include the availability of high-quality internet connection, diminished focus and productivity, management of employees virtually and their accountability, task management, maintaining a smooth and well-disciplined relationship with all team members, keeping the morale high of a virtual team, and security of assets (hardware, software, and data). Therefore, leadership must transform their way of management. Shared leadership style provides the distribution of powers and roles, which help to increase productivity and performance. The country like Pakistan where internet connection and availability of copyrighted software & pre-requisite hardware are few of the major challenges, leadership may face different challenges as compared to virtual teams operating in different countries. This study will try to identify the challenges which leadership may face while functioning with virtual teams in Pakistan, and the effect of shared leadership if applied on productivity and efficiency to meet the organizational objectives.

With the invasion of the Covid-19 pandemic, governments, organizations and individuals changed their mode of operations. A heavy reliance on technology and social media developed and thus fears of security and privacy escalated. This article discusses the impacts of social media and technology on privacy during the Covid-19 pandemic. The article looks at the evolution of social media and its trajectory from its humble beginnings to its current worldwide influencing authority. This will be achieved by addressing the impact social media is having on major aspects of human life. The paper will additionally have a brief look at the evolution of technology in general and the technologies utilized in social media in particular. The paper will deliver a brief overview of privacy in the world from different perspectives. the changing needs related to security and privacy and how technology supported those changing needs followed by the authors’ own opinions and conclusions.

The latest trend in transforming a business to achieve operational efficiency is through Digital Transformation. To achieve this, both processes and technology within an organization need to strongly align. Successful digital transformation depends not only on technical aspects but also on human assets within the organization. Studies linked to this area of research have concluded that one of the major causes for failure of digital transformation includeshuman aspects involved within the change and not the technical maturity alone.There is a need to develop a holistic approach to tackle this problem, and this research is aimed at studying the human aspects of digital transformation. This research seeks to answer:To simplify digital transformation within an organization, how can the change management team and project management team be integrated for a seamless transitioning?The researcher will conduct a qualitative study to understand the concept of digital transformation from the perspective of project managers and change managers, their ability to tackle the change process, their understanding of Digitizationand need for digitisation from their standpoint. The interview process will be conducted in a semi-structured manner in organizations undergoing digital transformation where leaders working in upper management levels, or executives will be interviewed. Based on the data collected, a thematic analysis will be done, and an integrated framework will be developed to be used as a guideline for project management and change management teams.
